Some reflected the times we lived in some helped us escape them for a few hours. They involved aliens, postapocalyptic heroines, gangsters, literary icons, saints, sinners, killers, a monstrosity named Monsieur Merde and even, on occasion, normal human beings. The 50 movies we picked as the best of the decade covered a lot of traditional types - blockbusters, arthouse films, indies, studio-sponsored hits (and misses), foreign-language films, docs, star vehicles, director-driven projects - and spanned the globe. No one knew that Disney would own all of them. No one might have guessed there would be 23 Marvel movies, and a new Star Wars trilogy with several spin-off films, and a whole slate of animated classics redone as live-action spectacles. ![]() It’s now the dominant Hollywood-studio model. ![]() In 2010, the notion of a “cinematic universe” seemed far-fetched. We started the decade with a drama about a social-media pioneer who’d help make the internet our primary mode of communication and ended it with a long, epic story by America’s greatest living filmmaker that most people will see on Netflix. What was a “movie,” anyway? Was it a nearly eight-hour, multipart documentary that showed in a theater? Was it an auteur-driven pet project that debuted on a streaming service? Was it a TV show made by a director that film critics loved? (The answer to that last one is a resounding no.) (Though “A24,” “superheroes” and “now streaming” immediately come to mind.) You can argue that every that-was-the-era-that-was summary charts an art form in some sort of transition, but this particular 10-year span suggested that cinema - not just a New York word, for what it’s worth - was dealing with one hell of an identity crisis. It was the best of decades, it was the most WTF of decades - looking back on the movies that came to define the 2010s both critically and commercially, it’s nearly impossible to nail the particular arc of the medium in a few concise words or phrases. ![]()

MongoDB Compass 1.5 allows users to view, add, and modify document validation rules through its GUI, making them more accessible to both developers and DBAs. Adding and viewing validation rules required understanding the correct commands to run from the mongo shell’s command line. To address the challenges discussed above, while at the same time maintaining the benefits of a dynamic schema, MongoDB 3.2 introduced document validations. To date, this resulted in developers building their own validation logic – either within the application code (possibly multiple times for different applications) or by adding middleware such as Mongoose. If one of the vendors alters the format of its product catalog, global catalog searches could fail. Development teams from different companies may be working with the same collections misunderstandings about what data should be present can lead to issues.Īs an example, an e-commerce website may centralize product catalog feeds from multiple vendors into a single collection.Development teams working on different applications can be spread over multiple sites, which means that a clear agreement on the format of shared data is important.Different development teams can work with the same data, each needing to know what they can expect to find in a particular collection. Many projects reach a point where it’s necessary to enforce rules on what’s being stored in the database – for example, that for any document in a particular collection, you can be certain that specific attributes are present in every document. For business leaders, the application gets launched much faster, and new features can be rolled out more frequently. Operations teams appreciate the fact that they don’t need to perform a time-consuming schema upgrade operation every time the developers need to store a different attribute. One of MongoDB’s primary attractions for developers is that it gives them the ability to start application development without first needing to define a formal schema. This makes it easy to create and modify rules that ensure that all documents written to a collection contain the data you expect to be there. This post looks at a new feature in MongoDB Compass 1.5 (in beta at the time of writing) which allows document validation rules to be added from the GUI rather from the mongo shell command line. Here we discuss the definition, syntax, How to sort by date in MongoDB? Examples, and code implementation.Adding Document Validation Rules Using MongoDB Compass 1.5 If we need date in ascending order then we need to pass 1 with the sort method. But don't worry, it's just a result of production and being compressed inside of plastic wrap, and the smell will dissipate after a day or so. ![]() When you open your DreamCloud mattress fresh out of the box, it won't smell so fresh (think new car smell). It also helps keep the mattress from sagging prematurely. Hybrid mattresses tend to be more durable than all-foam mattresses because they contain a steel coil base, which is (as you can imagine) more durable than foam. Thanks to DreamCloud's thick pocketed coil system in the base of the mattress, it has a durable design that should last you around 10 years or more. Instead, outside factors like your pajamas or room temperature will probably play a bigger role in how hot or cold you sleep. It's more temperature neutral - I didn't overheat sleeping on this bed but it's not actively cooling me down like the Purple Hybrid. It doesn't sleep hot like a stereotypical memory-foam mattress, but it doesn't sleep cold either. I mentioned how the DreamCloud hybrid mattress is the Goldilocks of mattress firmness levels, and I could say the same about its temperature, too. This is important if you're somebody who sleeps all the way to the side of the mattress, whether it's because you sleep with another person or you just like living on the edge (this is the mattress equivalent of a dad joke). The edge support is a little wonky right out of the box, but give the mattress a day or so to fully inflate and the edges will feel sturdy and supportive. In that case, I'd recommend a memory-foam mattress entirely made from foam. The only exception would be if you're an incredibly light sleeper whose most important feature in a mattress is 10 out of 10 motion isolation. The motion isolation isn't stellar on this mattress, but I don't think this should deter you from getting this bed if its other qualities are worth it to you. There's some bounce and motion transfer if your partner gets out of bed or swiftly changes positions, but that's hard to completely avoid with a hybrid mattress as thick as the DreamCloud. ![]() ![]() ![]() Y10- TECHNICAL SUBJECTS COVERED BY FORMER USPC.Y- GENERAL TAGGING OF NEW TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS GENERAL TAGGING OF CROSS-SECTIONAL TECHNOLOGIES SPANNING OVER SEVERAL SECTIONS OF THE IPC TECHNICAL SUBJECTS COVERED BY FORMER USPC CROSS-REFERENCE ART COLLECTIONS AND DIGESTS.G06F16/2365- Ensuring data consistency and integrity.G06F16/20- Information retrieval Database structures therefor File system structures therefor of structured data, e.g.G06F16/00- Information retrieval Database structures therefor File system structures therefor.G06- COMPUTING CALCULATING OR COUNTING.238000005859 coupling reaction Methods 0.000 description 2.229910052802 copper Inorganic materials 0.000 description 2.RYGMFSIKBFXOCR-UHFFFAOYSA-N copper Chemical compound RYGMFSIKBFXOCR-UHFFFAOYSA-N 0.000 description 2. ![]() ![]()
